I bought this paddle as kind of an afterthought during Black Friday sales, when I purchased a dozen paddles from different brands to find some new "mains" to play with.
I wasn't blown away by its presentation (it has a bit of a cheap look and feel IMO and the carbon fiber seems a lighter colored look than my other RCF paddles that makes it seem lower quality) but having played with it for a couple months, it's made it near the top of my rotation as is one of my three go-to paddles for outdoor play.
What I love about it is feels like it has plenty of power, but doesn't have the stiff feels of many thermoformed paddles; it has a soft, controlled power and a very stable sweet spot. It is definitely elongated but is light and nimble enough to play quicker in the hand—more like a hybrid paddle. Also, they have some of the best graphics/logo in the industry (I'd like to see a Power Pro with a black edge guard though).
My main feedback is around price; at $130, these would be extremely competitive with the likes of thermoformed offerings from Vatic, 11SIX24, Versix, Pikkl, Ronbus, etc—and they would get my full-throated recommendation to everyone I play with. At $150, they just get lost in the see of dozens of other midrange brands and don't have enough distinct tech to stand out.
Hope Holbrook continues to iterate (maybe a widebody or true hybrid shape power pro?) and excited to see where they go!
