Received the 14mm Aero T for Christmas. It is a great all court paddle and I really was looking forward to playing with an edgeless paddle however durability has become a concern. Within 10 minutes of playing I got a small chip on the top edge from hitting a wood floor. After one month a large chunk chipped off with no obvious reason.
Played with this paddle today. Coming from a 16mm with edge guard, I can say there’s a big difference using this one! I can get the fast responses I needed, especially on unexpected situations.
The only downside buying this is for its price, you still not getting any paddle cover (nor even a sticker!)
The paddle is lightweight and the extra handle length is great. My issues is with the cost of the paddle and they don’t bother to include a cover for it. A minor thing but with various paddles out there and increasing “reviews” and data pointing to the subjectivity of paddles I would think they’d be looking to minimally offer a basic cover. Can I get my own cover? Certainly! Do I want something included for $199.99? Absolutely!
The first time I tried this paddle, I fell in love. I wasn’t really looking for a new paddle as I already had the older Holbrook and love that one. But then I tried this one and I felt like the sweet spot was so much bigger.
I am new to Pickleball this past year, so I had no idea a paddle that has this much feel, and basically a full face/paddle sweet spot was out there. I thought the long handle would enable me to use too much wrist, but it doesn't. It gives me more control. Great Paddle! Everyone should have one in their bag!
